According to Merna Strassner, if you call the cemetery office, they will pick you up at the Long Island Railroad station and take you to and from the cemetery.
Directions:
From Brooklyn: Belt Parkway to Southern State Parkway to Exit35 toWellwood Ave. Proceed North to cemetery on right.
From Queens: Long Island Expressway (East) to Exit 49S. Follow service road to Pinelawn Road (third light). Turn right and continue on Pinelawn Road which becomes Wellwood Avenue (approx. 3 1/2 miles) to cemetery.
From The Bronx: Cross Bronx Expressway to Throggs Neck Bridge to Clearview Expressway
to Long Island
Expressway (East) and then follow directions from Queens to Cemetery.
From Nassau County: Follow Queens directions
From Suffolk County: Long Island Expressway to Exit 49 North. Follow service road to traffic light. Turn left on to Pinelawn Road (Wellwood Ave.). Follow to cemetery on left.
Directions by train from Times Square:
This is best done on Sunday morning only, the earlier the better. From Times Square Station, take No. 1, 2, 3, or 9 train one stop to Penn Station. From there take Long Island Railroad to Pinelawn station (make sure that you sit in last two cars of train only). From there a yellow school bus makes regular circles between the station and these cemeteries. The last bus from the cemetery back to the station is at 2:00 PM. These buses run only on Sunday's -- for any other day you will have to take a taxi to and from the Pinelawn station and they are not there to meet the trains so you'll have to call for one.
